Save your money and your health

As previously mentioned, you can wind up saving a whole heap of cash just by purchasing at your local Grocery store or Warehouse chain in advance. Stock up on your case of water, or snacks, lunch meats, salads etc. where the cost is acceptable and avoid the trap of grabbing things due to convenience while at the Truck stop.

You can also achieve a healthier diet by pre-planning your meals and snacks. The only catch is that some of these items will require some refrigeration. This is where your new iceless cooler will come in handy.

Save time and be prepared

Some additional advantages that come with owning an iceless cooler are that it can save you time as well. You will already have ready-made meal solutions and drinks on hand which can avoid the need for parking, shopping and waiting in line to make your (over-priced) truck stop purchases. In addition, you can take advantage while you are waiting at your shipper or receiver and not miss your meals or go thirsty.

What to look for

So what should we be looking for when purchasing our new iceless cooler? One thing is to look for known and reputable companies. Our reviews cover products made by Coleman, Igloo, Koolatron, and Wagan. All known and respected companies that have manufactured products for some time and have good reputations.

Another thing that you will want to use in determining the best product for your situation is the size of the cooler. You may have a certain space in your truck in mind that you want to place the cooler and so, size dimensions are important in this regard. Most of the coolers that follow can be stood up like a small refrigerator, or can be sat down like a traditional cooler. We even have a smaller model that sits between your seats or on the passenger seat if this is something you prefer.

In addition to size, we also need to check that the manufacturer has some sort of warranty. This will protect you in case some defect comes up. It is important to read the documents that come with your cooler so that you will know how to keep it running optimally and avoid problems that uninformed users have. For example, not blocking the motor and air vents of the cooler, not placing items too close to the inside cooling apparatus, keeping the vents clean of debris etc. will assist in getting a longer life span out of the cooler.

Maximize flexibility

Some companies will not have a refrigerator installed in the trucks and will not allow the driver to mount any. These coolers offer the perfect solution for these situations. Also, just because you do have a refrigerator installed, don’t miss out on the advantage of having a cooler within reach so that you can grab a cold drink or snack while still in the driver’s seat (Again, saving time and money and keeping those wheels turning!).

For what it's worth

Last thing we want to mention before getting to the individual reviews is proper expectations. These iceless coolers are not refrigerators. Most of them work on the basis of keeping items a certain degree cooler than the exterior temperature (40 degrees cooler than the surrounding temp. as an example). So keep these points in mind.

Consider this:

Carefully consider the benefits to using these iceless coolers:

  • · Much lower cost than a traditional refrigerator which does not need to be mounted
  • · Flexibility of moving the cooler to different areas of the truck for convenience
  • · Saves time and money while on the road
  • · Does not require the continuing purchase of ice

And with all that in mind you have a great solution in these iceless coolers.

Now let’s take a look at our picks for the Best Iceless Coolers for 2017:

My Recommendation

All the coolers reviewed have their positives and negatives. The main thing that you want to remember is to keep the cooler in the best shape possible and heed the usage warnings given in the video provided. My recommendation is the Koolatron for the following reasons:

It has the added capability of cooling and warming

Large capacity for holding contents

Uses very little power and has limited parts that can break.

9 foot cord which maximizes the ability to move it around to where you need it.

All of the coolers presented are fine models and would be of benefit for the road warrior looking to save money and time while out on the road.
